| about me... |
| my name is kevin sarris. |
| i started my career 24 years ago in the mid '80's in ledbury, herefordshire at "the martin samuel hair company" and it was here that my passion for long hair was first ignited as martin was, and still is, a film hairdresser and session stylist. staying in ledbury, i moved onto "the cutting club" under the mentorship of mervyn parnell where i learnt the art of short, funky styles - both men and women - with a fifties inspired flavour. |
| from that foundation, at age 23 years, i was led to manchester where i managed a city centre salon "pierre alexandre" with a staff of 35 strong. here i continued on the creative side with photo shoots and stage work, together with looking after the hair of some of the coronation street cast that frequented the salon. also during this period i learnt about the business side of the industry under the scrutiny of pierre which helped me immensely as a foundation for the future. |
| i was then offered a position at "paul michaels" in altrincham, cheshire where i tended to the tresses of the cheshire set. it was here that my passion for long hair and wedding work really blossomed and it has become an integral part of my hairdressing career ever since. |
| in 2003, my family and i decided to leave the city behind to move back to our roots in worcestershire. my wife lheesa and myself opened our own salon in malvern which had a 10 strong staff , was hugely successful and which we ran for 8 years. |
| it was here that i established a reputation for long hair and more particularly bridal hair. this passion for long hair led me into passing my knowledge onto the new young talent of today by way of college training/assessing at worcester college of technology and holding training seminars for college/salons. alongside my wedding work, i still work commercially 2 days per week attending clients at "the clip joint", new street, worcester. |
